ASBESTOS OPERATIVE COURSE
Also known as Category B or “Bag and Tag” training, the Asbestos Non-Licensed Operative course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely work with non-licensed asbestos-containing materials. It covers the identification of asbestos, legal requirements, safe handling techniques, and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Duration
The duration depends on prior asbestos awareness training:

B1: For those with no previous asbestos awareness training

1½ days (minimum 9 learning hours)

Must include the asbestos awareness element (per UKATA MS001)

B2: For those with valid UKATA asbestos awareness training within the last 6 months

1 day (minimum 6 learning hours)

Verification of prior training required

If prior training is over 6 months old, B1 training will be required.
