Driver CPC training, your first step into trucking
It’s a great time to become a trucker but don’t forget to do your driver cpc training before Sept 2014!.
As unemployment rises, our work terms and conditions deteriorate and people are looking for a change in career, becoming a professional driver is becoming an increasingly popular job choice. From taxi driver to trucker, the feeling of being out on the road is something that many people would love to do. Truck driving in particular is a popular driving job as the feeling of freedom experienced by truckers is something many people fall in love with. To become a trucker, you will need to do the driver CPC training as it is a legal requirement for everyone who drives for hire or reward. You will also need to get it done before September 2014.
What is CPC Training? What does it involve?
The driving Certificate of Professional Competence is awarded when the student has completed thirty five hours or training and a series of tests. The tests include all aspects of driving and safety that you will need in your job. This includes hazard awareness, extreme driving conditions, managing your vehicle and risk awareness. Some parts of the training and tests are mandatory and others can be tailor made according to your particular role. You will be observed driving and controlling your vehicle as part of the test and will be awarded the cpc only if you pass all of the modules.

Where can I complete my training?
You can complete the cpc training at our reputable training centre in the UK, we also offer different types of training too, such as Pasma training. September 2014 might seem a long way off but it will soon come round and if you haven’t got the certificate you can face legal action, as well as not being able to work in your chosen profession. It really isn’t worth the risk so the sooner you start your cpc training the better.
Why is it important to me?
Even if you aren’t currently in a driving job, the cpc is one of the first things you should get before you start in a driving role. Not only is it legal, it also gives you the reassurance that you are driving safely, correctly and to the best of your ability. You should most certainly see it as a positive thing as it will serve you well in the years to come. One thing to note is that you should renew the cpc every five years. This is to make sure that you are up to date on the latest safety procedures and good practice as well as keep you on the right side of the law. As the certificate lasts for five years, even if you take a break from driving then you will still have your valid certificate should you return to driving.

Training is Advantageous and Flexible
If you are applying for driving jobs, it is undoubtedly more advantageous to have your driver cpc training already completed as they would more probably want a driver to start sooner rather than later and not to have to take time off to do the training. Having said that, the cpc driver training can be done a bit at a time, so don’t worry about having to take a week off work to do it, you should be able to do it out of hours.
