What Is IPAF Training and Why Choose UK Industries Training

What is IPAF training and why choose UK Industries Training?

So what exactly is IPAF training?

IPAF stands for the International Powered Access Federation and promotes the effective and safe use of powered access all over the world.  It was set up in 1983 and is a not for profit members organisation.  It represents the interests of users, distributors, manufacturers and training companies as well as serving as a forum for everyone active in the powered access world. IPAF plays an important role of promoting many of the safety, design and testing procedures that are set up in the powered access industry. UK Industries are a quality provider for IPAF training and based in Nottingham.

IPAF Training Explained

What is an IPAF licence?

An IPAF licence is given to those who complete IPAF training.  Upon completion participants are awarded the Powered Access Licence, also known as the PAL card. This card is one of the most recognised proof of training and is widely held for platform operators.  It is valid for 5 years and sets out the machine categories the operator has been trained in.  The card also shows the operators photo and signature, which IPAF can  verify when called. Membership to IPAF is available for the users of platforms, distributors, manufacturers, training and rental companies.  The members usually come from Europe and America but are also present in the Far East, Middle East and the Pacific.
Member benefits include;
•    The possibility to influence the increasing number of regulations and legislation that governs the platform use.
•    It also offers free services, such as insurance management system, specialist advisory service and business information services.
•    Furthermore, it gives access to a whole range of practical information on commercial technical and legal aspects of platform  use.

Platform operators undergo the IPAF training program which is certified by TUV to confirm to ISO 18878. Over 100,000 platform operators are trained every year in over 600 training centres.  The IPAF course tends to last one to two days and incorporates both theory and practice.
The training is a must have as part of Health and Safety training because those who fail to achieve the required level of powered access training account for the failure of one in five building site Government health and safety inspections.
