The CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SMSTS-R) is designed for site managers and those in supervisory roles to ensure they remain up to date with the latest legislation and best practices in health and safety on construction sites. It is ideal for anyone who has previously completed the 5-day SMSTS course and is due for a refresher. It must be completed before the expiry of the original certificate.

Course Type
The SMSTS-R is a short, intensive classroom-based course, using a mix of interactive learning methods such as case studies, group discussions, and practical exercises. It is designed to update existing knowledge rather than reteach the full SMSTS content.

Entry Requirements
Delegates must have previously completed the full 5-day SMSTS course. It is also recommended that attendees have a supervisory or managerial role and a good understanding of site safety.

Certification Awarded
On successful completion, delegates will receive the CITB SMSTS certificate, confirming their ability to manage health and safety on construction sites.
Certification Validity
The SMSTS certificate is valid for five years. To remain certified, delegates must complete another refresher course before their certificate expires.
If the certificate expires, the full 5-day SMSTS course must be retaken.
