Format
The course is instructor lead, the instructor is an experienced MEWP Engineering making sure they have hands on knowledge of maintenance and repair of powered access equipment.

Assessment: Continuous assessment + Final written exam

Certification: CITB SMSTS certificate (valid for 5 years)

Note: A refresher course must be taken before the certificate expires. If it lapses, the full 5-day course must be retaken.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal qualifications required, but this course is most suitable for those already working in a site management role or preparing to step into one.

Certification Awarded
Upon successful completion of the CITB SMSTS course, participants will receive the CITB SMSTS Certificate, which confirms their competence in managing health and safety on construction sites. This certification is widely recognised across the construction industry and remains valid for five years. To maintain certification, a refresher course must be completed before the expiry date.
Certification Validity
The SMSTS certificate is valid for five years. To stay up to date with current health and safety regulations and best practices, it is strongly recommended that delegates complete a refresher course before the certificate expires.
If the certificate expires, the full 5-day SMSTS course must be retaken in order to regain certification.
