This course is a 1 day course

The course is instructor lead, the instructor is an experienced MEWP Engineering making sure they have hands on knowledge of maintenance and repair of powered access equipment.

Participants must demonstrate their ability to perform a comprehensive pre-delivery inspection on powered access equipment during practical sessions. Additionally, there may be a written assessment that tests knowledge of regulatory requirements, inspection procedures, and safety protocols. Successful completion of these assessments is required to earn the certification.

We provide a range of MEWPs to perform the practical elements of this course.

To complete the IPAF PDI course, several facilities are required. These include a classroom equipped with audio visual tools for theoretical instruction, as well as a safe, designated area for practical training that accommodates powered access equipment. Additionally, access to various types of powered access platforms (such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts) is essential for hands-on training. Proper safety equipment and personal protective gear are also necessary to ensure a safe training environment.

To attend the IPAF PDI course, participants typically need to meet a few entry requirements. These  include being at least 18 years old, have held a PAL Card for at least 6 months,  having a basic understanding of health and safety regulations, and possessing a suitable level of physical fitness to operate powered access equipment. It is also recommended that candidates have experience in the maintenance of MEWPs industries.

The course is in English and the exam paperwork, instruction manuals are all in English so delegates will need a good level of English reading and writing to complete this course.

Additionally, the following PPE which you will need to bring with you is

1. Harness with a restraint lanyard suitable for using in a MEWP. It must be in test and proof of this will be needed before you can use this for your practical element of the course.
2. Safety foot ware.
3. Hi Viz waistcoat or coat.
4. Safety googles or glasses.
5. Safety Gloves.
6. Warm clothing.

Upon successful completion of the IPAF Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) course, participants receive a certification from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). This certification confirms that the individual is qualified to perform pre-delivery inspections on powered access equipment, demonstrating their knowledge of inspection procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
