Course Type

Format
The course is instructor lead, the instructor is an experienced MEWP Engineering making sure they have hands on knowledge of maintenance and repair of powered access equipment.

Assessment is by:

A multiple-choice examination at the end of the course
A pass is required to gain the SSSTS certificate.
Facilities used
All course materials, handouts, and training literature are provided. Delegates are advised to bring:

Valid ID (e.g. driving licence or passport)

Any course registration paperwork
Materials Provided
To complete the IPAF PDI course, several facilities are required. These include a classroom equipped with audio visual tools for theoretical instruction, as well as a safe, designated area for practical training that accommodates powered access equipment. Additionally, access to various types of powered access platforms (such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts) is essential for hands-on training. Proper safety equipment and personal protective gear are also necessary to ensure a safe training environment.

Certification Awarded
On successful completion, participants receive the CITB SSSTS certificate, recognised across the UK construction industry as proof of safety competency at a supervisory level.
Certification Validity

The certificate is valid for five years.

To maintain certification, a refresher course must be completed before the expiry date.

If the certificate expires, delegates will need to retake the full two-day course.
